Diane Bricker Bio
Diane Bricker is both a certified spiritual director and a certified supervisor of spiritual directors. She received her Certificate in Spiritual Direction from the SMU Perkins School of Theology, and her Advanced Certificate in Supervision of Spiritual Directors from the Fordham Graduate School of Religion and Religious Education.
She supervises students and acts as a small group facilitator in the Perkins Certificate in Spiritual Direction Program, and also supervises students in the Fordham Advanced Certificate in Spiritual Direction Program. In addition, she privately offers individual spiritual direction, individual supervision, and group supervision.
Diane is also a member of Retreat House in Dallas, Texas, which is an intentional spiritual and religious contemplative community of spiritual directors and spiritual formation leaders. She enjoys writing and often publishes in Retreat House publications.
Prior to retiring and pursuing her long-standing interest in all matters spiritual, Diane practiced law for 25 years. She and her husband live in Dallas, Texas. They have one son, who lives in New York City with his wife and very large Berna-doodle. In her spare time, Diane likes to play bridge, read, write, and travel.
ETHICS
Diane abides by the Spiritual Directors’ International Ethical Guidelines. The confidential and ethical aspects of the spiritual direction and supervision relationships are important to her.
FAITH TRADITIONS
Diane grew up in the protestant Christian faith tradition and continues to worship in this tradition. However, she feels privileged to work with seekers of all faiths, as well as those who have abandoned the faith in which they were raised but desire to explore the Sacred. She believes that God has many Holy Names, and often finds herself using the term Holy Mystery.
